Welcome to EyeGuardian support. We're here to help you protect your eyes and make the most of our app.
What is the 20-20-20 rule?
The 20-20-20 rule is an eye care guideline recommended by optometrists: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away. This helps reduce digital eye strain and prevent computer vision syndrome.
Does EyeGuardian work in the background?
Yes! EyeGuardian continues to track time and will notify you about breaks even when the app is minimized or when you're using other applications.
What's the difference between Lite and Pro versions?
EyeGuardian Lite provides basic timer functionality with the 20-20-20 rule. The Pro version adds custom themes, eye exercises, advanced statistics, and customizable timer intervals.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Click the "Upgrade to Pro" button on the main screen of the Lite version. You'll be guided through a simple purchase process using your Apple ID.
Can I customize break intervals?
Lite version: Fixed at 20 minutes (the recommended interval)
Pro version: Fully customizable intervals to match your workflow
How do I pause the timer?
Click the pause button in the app or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘P.
Can I skip a break?
Yes, when a break notification appears, you can click "Skip Break" if you're in the middle of important work.
How do I take a break immediately?
Click the "Take Break Now" button in the app or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘B.
Are the eye exercises medically approved?
The exercises included in EyeGuardian are based on commonly recommended techniques for reducing eye strain. They are not meant to treat medical conditions. Consult your eye care professional for specific advice.
How do I use the eye exercises?
Navigate to the "Eye Exercises" tab and select an exercise. Each one includes an animation and step-by-step instructions.
How do I change the app theme?
Go to Settings → Appearance → Theme Settings and select your preferred theme. Pro users have access to all themes.
Can I customize notification sounds?
Yes, go to Settings → Notifications → Break Sound to change the sound that plays during breaks.
How do I turn off fullscreen breaks?

Does EyeGuardian track my screen time even when it's not running?
No, EyeGuardian only tracks screen time while the application is running.
