I come from a small island by the east coast of Madagascar: Mauritius. I also spent a lot of time in France, where my parents currently reside. I am fluent in three languages, although my French is getting rusty being in the U.S for 12 years. Growing up in a very diverse country has taught me a lot. Given my experiences, both personally and as an academic, I am deeply committed to diversity and inclusion which I explicitly make part of my approach to my professional work.
Left: Vacationing in Mauritius in 2014 with family and friends. We stopped by the side of the road to get some fresh coconut water from a local stand.
I enjoy spending time with my family including these three interesting characters.
I enjoy painting, tending to my plants, reading, and playing music when time allows. I also attend various shows locally. When it gets too cold in Minnesota, I try to take some time to travel to warmer places in and around the U.S, hopefully somewhere with sea & sand.
