My international experience gave me the chance to work in four different educational systems (Italy, France, Germany and USA) and to interact with a population of students, which is very diverse from all points of view: ethno-racial, socio-economic and mathematical background. I gave undergraduate courses to all types of bachelor students (math-major and non-math-major) in France and USA, graduate courses to Master and PhD. students in Germany, tutoring for math freshmen in Italy and for math honors students in France. In Heidelberg I have supervised undergraduate visualization projects and a Master thesis. My teaching and diversity statements are available upon request.
I strongly believe in Federico Ardila-Mantilla's axioms:
Axiom 1. Mathematical talent is distributed equally among different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
Axiom 2. Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
Axiom 3. Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
Axiom 4. Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
