Dear Roundtable Members and Supporters,

It is with heavy hearts that we have decided to disband the Victoria Children’s Literature Roundtable.

In 2021 we celebrated our 40^th Anniversary as a group passionate about children’s literature. We weathered the two pandemic years without a place to meet. We coped during this challenging time by meeting virtually and hosting online events. Hosting an author or illustrator on Zoom worked fairly well.

However, attendance has been in decline for several years and the time has come to admit that this group no longer has a viable audience for events.

We will be issuing refunds in the coming weeks as we close the organization down. Most members paid for their memberships in the fall of 2021. The promised four events were provided and these members will not be getting a refund. However, people who registered in recent months will be offered a prorated refund, or an opportunity to donate the money to the Victoria Native Friendship Centre’s literacy programs.

We want to thank you for all your support over the years that we have offered events, and we hope that you continue to enjoy, promote and support children’s literature.
