VCLR is one of many Roundtables across Canada whose mandate is to support and to promote children's literature. We are teachers, librarians, authors, illustrators, parents, and children's book industry professionals.

• We host meet-the-author (or illustrator) presentations, literature-related educational events, like 'Choosing Books for Reluctant Readers,' and programs for the next generation of creators.

• We also contribute to a national annual Information Book Award and liaison with groups like The Canadian Children's Book Centre.
