Vail Christian High School
Sports Medicine
Welcome to the Vail Christian High School Sports Medicine Department webpage!
The VCHS Sports Medicine Department is a “free for service” provider, meaning that we do not charge for services rendered to your child. Our resources continue to grow daily as we strive to increase our capabilities to better serve our VCHS families. Should one of our student-athletes need our services, we encourage them to Schedule an Appointment and a sports medicine staff member will be in touch with them shortly to schedule their appointment.
We have partnered with Vail Health to manage a wide range of sports related injuries. Our medical team is composed of highly specialized professionals. Dr. Jonathan Godin serves as our medical director and specializes in complex knee, complex should, hip, and sports medicine. Dr. Eric Olson serves as our concussion medical director and specializes in family medicine - primary care. We are very excited to have both of these providers by our side to help take care of our student-athletes. Our goal is to ensure injured student-athletes receive top quality medical care tailored to their needs as secondary school student-athletes. We prioritize getting each student-athlete back on the field as quickly and safely as possible.
Meet the Director
Ryan Hart, an athletic trainer, joined Vail Christian High School in 2024 as the Director of Sports Medicine. He has worked in the field of athletic training since 2004 and has been in a wide selection of industries within the athletic training profession, some of which include: the secondary school setting, the collegiate setting, the clinical and surgical setting, and the outreach setting. Ryan and his wife Jessica moved to Colorado from Atlanta, Georgia where he served as the Director of Sports Medicine for a secondary private Chrisitan school from 2014 - 2021.
Ryan joins Vail Christian High School with the goal of establishing a “free-for-service” Sports Medicine Department to elevate the health care experience of the student-athletes who attend the school. In addition to running the Sports Medicine Department, he will also teach an Introduction to Sports Medicine elective-course so that students with an interest in pursuing a career in the medical field may have an introduction into the profession.
Ryan and his wife, Jessica, moved to Colorado to live the snowy mountain lifestyle. They enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and snowmobiling. They spent a year, after leaving Georgia, exploring the midwest as full time RVers and hope to one day continue their travels around the country via RV. “There are so many unique things out there to see and do; one should not spend their entire lives missing out on all the beauty God created”.
If you have any questions, Ryan believes in an open-door policy, so feel free to drop by for a visit or reach out to him at smd@vchsweb.org!
