"Deep-fried Butter Cookies"
1000g White flour
100-250g Butter
5l Water
100-200g Sugar
1 pinch Salt
Oil for deep frying
Dough
1. Dissolve salt & sugar in warm water.
2. Mix water, butter and flour and knead it until it becomes a dense dough.
3. Rest it up to 30 mins, and knead it again until there is no more bubbles on the dough surface.
Boortsog
1. Roll the dough to a thickness of about 1 cm.
2. Cut out stripes, rectangles, and other shapes with 2-5 cm width and 5-10 cm length.
3. Bend the shaped dough variably or tie them into knots (cut along the center of a rectangle & stops before both ends, and pull one end through the cut).
4. Deep fry the Boortsog in hot oil, until they shift into a golden brown colour.
Serving
1. Eat a sweet snack.
2. Pour the boortsog with honey, sugar or cheese OR dip them in a cup of tea.
