Believe it or not, vaccine is one of our most potent weapons against COVID-19. The vaccines developed imitate the virus or bacteria that causes disease, causing the body to produce antibodies. Once a person is infected with the disease-causing virus or bacteria, these antibodies will provide protection.

Getting vaccinated reduces the risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19. We can still get infected but once we have a vaccine, it reduces the chance of having severe symptoms and serious illness.

As of January 2022, there are 11 vaccines approved for use in the Philippines. Take note that the efficacy rate of the given vaccines are not the same because of the manufacturer and the details of each clinical trials.
