VAOTEC Meetings

• Participants earn continuing education units each time they attend the VAOTEC Quarterly Meeting.   

Virginia Continuing Education Units

• Up to two continuing education hours may be satisfied through supervision that promotes education of students. One hour of continuing education may be credited for eight hours of providing such supervision.

National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Professional Development Units  

• The NBCOT identifies fieldwork supervision as a professional development activity that may be used towards recertification. One Professional Development Unit per FW I student and 1 unit per 1 week of Fieldwork II supervision is awarded. Clinicians are able to collect a maximum of 18 units over a 3 year period for Fieldwork Supervision.

AOTA Foundations Badge

• AOTA offers a robust selection of continuing education (CE) courses to support practitioners in providing the best outcomes for their clients. Practitioners earn a verifiable digital badge upon successful completion of the series of courses indicated.

Certificate Workshop

Designed specifically for fieldwork educators and academic fieldwork coordinators, this unique training will be held in convenient workshops throughout the country. Here's what you can expect to gain:

• Effective strategies to integrate learning theories and supervision models

• Engagement in 4 curricular modules: administration, education, supervision, and evaluation

• Analysis of strategies to support best practice in fieldwork education

• Continuing education credit (15 contact hours) toward licensure renewal
