The occupational therapy doctoral capstone gives students the ability to gain in-depth knowledge in a chosen area of OT. It contains two distinct portions: the project and the experience. The experience ideally aims to address an identified need and further enhance the profession of OT.
The doctoral capstone is student-led, yet collaborative, and consists of 14 weeks of full-time and in-depth exposure to a concentrated area of OT. The project portion focuses on research behind the chosen topic. The experience portion focuses on implementation of the project in partnership with a capstone mentor. Each program may have different requirements so make sure to check with your Capstone Coordinator.
We have compiled an array of occupational therapy capstone project repositories from universities across the country to support access to valuable information and to facilitate idea generation.
The VAOTEC thrives when capstone students choose to work with the council. If you are interested in completing a capstone with VAOTEC, please visit this page for more information.
