Do I need a reservation for camping?

Can I fish from the beach or a boat at night?
Yes. Shoreline and boat ramp access are available after dark at select ramp locations like Martin Bay. No new overnight camping admitted after 9 p.m.
Is alcohol allowed?
No—possession and consumption of alcohol are prohibited in the state recreation area, including beaches, campgrounds, and even inside vehicles.
What types of fish can I catch?
Lake McConaughy is stocked with trophy bass, walleye, catfish, pike, white bass, wiper, and trout. Three public fish cleaning stations available.
Can I rent a boat or jet‑ski onsite?
