Over the course of this two week Field Period experience, we met people we may never see again, but we've made memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. Accompanying those memories, are lessons learned from our studies and our meetings.
My personal area of study is in language, primarily American Sign Language and Spanish. This Field Period was meant for Social Work students, but that didn't limit me to what fields I wanted to explore. As a future professional interpreter, I may be working with many social workers from across the country and this experience help be gain an understanding and perspective from a person in that field's point of view. In my future interactions with social workers, I'll be able to utilize the knowledge I have gained from this Field Period to provide the best services I can as an interpreter.
Below are links to various writings that display the work that I fulfilled for this trip as well as reflections that explain how this trip has impacted my self as a student and an individual. The policy notes include the breakdown of different social work policies which I based my input on for group discussions.
