First Year Advising Course

I used Rise 360 to create an Advising eLearning course for first-year college students. This brief demo showcases the use of menus, multimedia, scenarios/branching, interactive elements, and knowledge checks to create engaging content. Course was uploaded to a LMS for distribution.

LT8360 - E-Learning Design & Development

This prototype of an eLearning course was developed to increase college and career planning for second-semester first-year college students by 75%. The course instructed students on selecting the appropriate electives to facilitate their co-curricular option(s) based on their career choice. Activities included formative assessments to ensure that the learner selects correct choices. The summative assessment determined if students made appropriate choices for the identified career goal at the end of the eLearning course.

Created using Storyline 3, this prototype was developed as a team project utilizing project management principles and design tools including:

Tasked with designing a learning module using advanced learning design strategies, our group created an interactive experience that allows members of a nutritional counseling group at a local medical office to learn the nutritional value of ingredients by making overnight oats as part of a meal planning program through the group portal.

Instructional strategies and interactive features included, gamification, guided learning, and simulation. The focus of the formative evaluation was to identify the clarity of the content and overall learner experience, utilizing the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model.

LT8440 - E-Learning Environments

As part of a team project, a mini-lesson was developed based upon well-defined learning objectives, engagement strategies, and key design elements for interactivity, collaboration, assessment and feedback methods, etc.

The mini-lesson on UNESCO World Heritage Sites was designed using Bloom's Taxonomy for the instructional strategy and developed utilizing the Assure Lesson Plan template.

The lesson was built in Google Sites. Learning activities included flipped classroom videos, VR tours, discussion utilizing an interactive Web 2.0 tool, and a reflection assignment.
