Spring 2026: Ride The Cyclone

Our performance of Ride the Cyclone supports the non-profit Jacob Strong 615! Ride the Cyclone shares the story of a group of teenagers who encounter obstacles as they seek meaning in each of the lives they fight to regain. Vanderbilt Off Broadway is proud to support an organization that makes a positive impact on the lives of teenagers as they encounter obstacles in their every day lives. Jacob Strong 615 is a Middle Tennessee organization founded by Steve and Joanne Marsh in honor of their son, Jacob, in order to offer teens, educators, and parents the resources to support at-risk teens. They offer counseling and support groups and raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention through events, workshops, and campaigns.

Winter 2026: Into The Woods

The cast, crew, pit, and Artistic Board of Into The Woods are proud to be supporters of the non-profit Book’em! Book’em is a nonprofit organization that aims to raise literacy rates and ignite the passion and joy for reading in the Nashville youth community. We believe one story is enough to show every child that they are not alone, and we are so proud to be associated with and to support an organization that feels the same! 

Fall 2025: VOBaret: BELIEVE!

Our performance proudly supports Broadway Hearts, a nonprofit organization that brings the joy and connection of live performance to children in hospitals and care centers. Founded by Broadway performers, Broadway Hearts shares the transformative magic of music and theater with young patients, performing bedside, donating musical instruments, and creating moments of laughter, hope, and creativity in spaces that need it most.

Spring 2025: Company 

The cast, crew, pit, and Artistic Board of Company chose to support the Single Parents Project — a nonprofit that uplifts and empowers single-parent families through education, resources, and community support. Company explores the complexities of relationships, commitment, and the many forms that "family" can take. Through its honest portrayal of both the challenges and joys of connection, Company reminds us that no one truly builds a life alone. The Single Parents Project reflects that same spirit, helping individuals build strong, stable lives for themselves and their children. We're proud to support an organization that believes that love and support are what make a home.

Winter 2025: Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 

The Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network (TSPN) is a statewide organization working tirelessly to eliminate the stigma of suicide. Implementing the Tennessee Strategy for Suicide Prevention as defined by the 2001 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, our efforts date back twenty years. During this production, VOB worked to raise money for this impactful nonprofit. 

Fall 2024: VOBaret

Our first philanthropic cabaret!! We raised over $800 for Nashville Children's Theater (NCT), which is a local professional theatre company and drama school. NCT has worked since 1931 to promote artistic experiences for children, including field trips, drama classes, and community programs. NCT is unwaveringly committed to educating, engaging, and inspiring young audiences in an inclusive and accessible environment, promoting values of empathy, optimism, and equity. We are so glad that putting on this show impacted the VOB and Vanderbilt community, while also doing so much to support the greater Nashville community!

Spring 2024: Chicago

We supported Thistle Farms during the performances of Chicago! We are proud to say that we raised about $100 to support their wonderful organization. Thistle Farms, which is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to helping women survivors recover and heal from prostitution, trafficking, and addiction. They do this by providing a safe place to live, a meaningful job, and a lifelong sisterhood of support. Putting on this show was such a great experience for the VOB and Vanderbilt community and being able to support this incredible organization along the way made it even better.
