Atlanta ICDC! Vandegrift DECA had two teams; Nivitha Kandula & Anaika Eledath in Buying & Merchandising Team Decision Making and Jerry Lou & Shane Moe in Virtual Business Restaurant; make it as finalists in their competitive events and placed in the top ten of international competition! All of our competitors represented Vandegrift well and it is such an accomplishment just to make it to ICDC and we are proud of each of them.

VHS DECA had outstanding results for our Virtual District Career Development Conference! 44 students on 29 teams in 20 events advanced to the Texas State Career Development Conference. Our DECA competitors worked tirelessly from a virtual setting under these challenging circumstances to submit top notch business plans, marketing schemes, decision making action plans, and role play scenarios for a variety of categories. While we did not be traveling this year, our VHS DECA members are committed to a quality 20/21 campaign and dedicated to our Viper values!

36 members went to state and 23 of those were recognized as finalists!! 

We had 16 DECA competitors advancing to ICDC!!

We participated in a community Trunk or Treat

Out of 113 District competitiors, 93 advanced to the state level!!

Won 3 spots at the ICDC Leadership Conference in Orlando for our community service and promotional projects

Vandegrift took 91 students to compete in the District 5 Competition in Copperas Cove

81 of those students advanced to the State Competition in Dallas

47 of our competitors finalized at State and 26 advanced to the International Competition in Atlanta, GA!!

At Internationals, four events were in the top 20 in their event out of 20,000 students from around the world

• Rena Liang, Genevieve Betancourt, and Jessica Luo for innovation plan paper

• Karla Trujillo and Cecilia Reis for marketing team decision making

• Celina Pan for professional selling event

Lauryn Spinetta was recognized on stage at ICDC for being a Vandegrift student who earned a $207, 616 United States Military Academy scholarship at MIT

Cecilia Reis and Karla Trujillo placed 3rd in the world at ICDC in Atlanta
