The hotline has 24/7 support which can be utilized via phone or text.

This resource lists contact information for resources throughout the community as well as some state and national agencies which serve our area. Everything from housing to medical care to child care is included.

This Des Moines based organization has student trainings and support groups. They work to bring mental health services and awareness to many communities.

1-800-SPEAK-UP is the first and only national hotline for student to safely and anonymously report weapon threats in their school or community

Career and College Planning

Whether you plan to enter the workforce, join the military, or attend a post-secondary institution, planning life beyond high school is one of the most exciting and scary times of your educational career. Many opportunities are available and you will be in charge of making good decisions for both your short and long term goals. The tools below will help you in the process. Getting information from your family, friends, and your school counselor will also help guide the way.

Navigator will help you gain career information, work on your 4 year plan, and help you take assessments to determine career goals. Your login information and password are your lunch number and date of birth.

The Scholarship link provides information about local, state and national scholarships. It also includes links to college visit forms, tips for seniors, and other information Mrs. Chapuis provides in the senior folders which are distributed each September.

Provides programs, tools, and resources to help students with all aspects of planning and preparing for the academic, social and financial aspects of life after high school.

Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to apply for financial aid for college or graduate school.

Academic

Academic preparation is much more than simply picking classes for high school. Building strong study skills, managing time, challenging yourself with courses, and pursuing interests are all important components to your academic success. Answers to questions regarding curriculum planning, graduating with honors, career academies, and dual enrollment can all be found in the student handbook and curriculum guide.

ACT testing dates are available below. If you receive free or reduced lunch rates, please see Mrs. Chapuis for a fee waiver.

ASVAB tests are administered each fall for all Juniors. Students wanting other opportunities to complete ASVAB should contact their military recruiter or Mrs. Chapuis for more information

VBCH students or alumni needing transcripts for college applications, scholarship opportunities, or transfers to another school.

Accuplacer testing is required for most community colleges. If you don't take the ACT, community colleges will require you submit Accuplacer scores. You may visit the national testing site for locations or call any community college you are interested in attending to set up a time to test. IHCC will test students no matter where they plan to attend but will charge a small fee in order to transfer scores. You can reach the Fairfield IHCC center by calling 641-472-6366
