Children watched the spanish movie Cuerdas that glorifies fundamental human values: compassion, acceptance, support, respect for all people regardlessof their diversity.

Workshop "Tolerance towards diversity"

4th graders watched the German film “Very, Very Far Away” which tells the story of an eleven-year-old boy Ben from Germany who meets a Syrian refugee Tariqua from Aleppo.

At first Ben considers him a rival, but over time the two of them discover that they have more in common than they thought…

Through the workshop, our students expressed their opinions about the film, talked about the feelings that arose in them while watching the film.

Then they wrote messages to welcome the refugee child when he would come to their class.

Here are some of warmly and frendly messages:

Be my friend! You are not alone! Dont be afraid! Nice to meet you! You are like me! You are great! It doesnt matter where are you from!....

The students were happy to write messages of peace to send to Spain and Lithuania...

The students started the Pink Shirt Day with the UNICEF song "Don't insult", which was a stimulus to talk about peer violence, child victims and children who are prone to violent behavior. To get to know the feelings of the abused child, they listened to the story Torn Heart, painted it and in the square every time the boy in the story was sad, hurt or abused. They wrote messages and associations on how they can contribute to stopping violence and what children can do when someone is weaker, different and when they are rejected. 💜

Our students marked the Safer Internet Day and through various activities realized the importance of safer and more responsible use of Internet technology.

They practiced the reading technique on the picture book for children on Internet safety Safe with Netica and on a fairy tale in the digital world - Three Little Pigs where they learned about children's activities in the online world, communication via the Internet and the dangers of the virtual world. Also, from the manual for safety on the Internet, they watched the animated film Little Red Riding Hood in which a girl who has a Facebook profile faces many challenges, and through the video #beautiful word they noticed some types of behavior and treatment of others are not desirable. They applied the new concepts and acquired knowledge by playing a social game by the Center for Safer Internet, solving the quiz Safety on the Internet organized by the City of Zagreb Libraries, looking for hidden concepts in the eight-way Safer Internet Day. They did not hide their enthusiasm by putting together a puzzle of drawings on the topic of the Internet.

After activities in which they deepened their knowledge of the Internet, students created a poster to convey to others a clear message about the safe and responsible use of technologies and mobile devices among children and young people.

Erasmus days at the Catholic Primary School were celebrated for two days.

On October 14, the students presented the activities in which they participated in the project to their colleagues at the school through a presentation and videos, followed by a knowledge quiz and occasional gifts. During the celebration, in the atrium of the school, photographs of the activities of the Values ​​through Art project were constantly exchanged, as well as the results of the projects in the previous school year so that all visitors were acquainted with the activities of Catholic primary school students.

On October 15, employees of the Krka National Park visited and held an ecological workshop "Little Nature Keepers" to introduce them to the peculiarities of the national park, flora and fauna and rules of conduct to preserve nature. The tasks of the workshop are to convey to children the message that each of us can have a positive or negative impact on plants, animals and nature.
