Who Are We?
Who Are We?
The VU U20 Gx Team is open to athletes who are a girl or do not fit into the gender binary and believe this is the right division for them. The team competes in the USAU Youth Girls Division.
Our program was launched in 2017 to compete outside of our local leagues on a national stage at the Youth Club Championships and returned to YCCs in 2018 and 2019, improving each year.
VU paused programming in 2020 due to the Covid19-pandemic, but returned to the field with local activity in 2021 & 2022 including a deepening relationship with a local Gx club team - "Plow."
In 2023, VU Gx again returned to YCC's and while also continuing to develop a strong local and regional program, competing in the 1st annual Northeastern Youth Club Tournament in Granby, MA.
In 2024 we stayed local and regional again.
We are looking forward to getting back to YCCs in 2025 while growing our local & regional program as well

Who Is Plow?
PLOW is a Women's Division club team based in Western MA. After a successful return to competition in 2023, PLOW hopes to continue to build opportunities for all women-matching players in the Valley who like to have fun and play ultimate together!

Hi, I'm Leila! I've played and coached ultimate for the past 20 years at the highest levels of the sport, competing on the US U20 Girls and the Adult Women’s US National Teams and winning multiple US National Championships with the Boston women’s ultimate team, Brutesquad. I've also had to privilege to coach the US U20 Girls National Team in 2012 and 2020, co-coach the Amherst High School Boys Varsity ultimate team since 2014, as well as the Valley Ultimate Girls Division team since 2017.

I’m Dylan. I’ve been playing since 1999 in my freshman year of high school at Paideia in Atlanta. I’ve played for top level teams in high school, college, club, the pro leagues and for several US national teams. I formerly coached and developed the Grady High School program (Now Midtown High) in Atlanta. I currently coach the UMass men’s team who just finished a wonderful season and have assisted Leila with coaching the VU girls division team since 2017.

Hi! I'm Dan! I have been an ultimate player, coach, and organizer in the Pioneer Valley since 2005.I currently coach the Gx Varsity team at Amherst Regional High School, play on club teams in the GM and GGM divisions, board president for Valley Ultimate, and a coordinator of the VU fall & winter leagues. As YCC coordinator and assistant coach, I look forward to taking care of logistics, moving cones, calling lines, doing the "egg-roll," and whatever else possible to support Leila and Dylan's coaching.
