How much is admission to games? A: $6.00 for 5th grade and over. 4th grade and under are free.
Where/How do I purchase tickets? A: Visit GoFan.com or download the app and create an account. A digital ticket must be presented to enter the event.
Is there a fee to play sports? A: Yes; It's a one time fee of $40. It covers transportation and insurance for the year.
Can my child ride home with me after an away sporting event? A: Yes; however a parent will need to sign off with their child's coach that he/she will be riding home with them instead of traveling back to school on the activity bus. Athletes are not allowed to ride home with anyone else other than their parent(s).

Where do I park and enter the school for sporting events held in the gym? A: You may park in the side parking lot or in the back lot near the gym. To enter the building you must access the side entrance that is located near the side parking lot of the building.
Where are home football games played at? A: TC Roberson High School
Where are home soccer games played at? A: W.W. Estes Elementary School
Where is the baseball field located? A: The field is located directly behind Valley Springs Middle School, behind the gym.
Where are tennis courts located? A: TC Roberson High School
Does my child need to have a sports physical completed each year to play/tryout for a sport? A: Yes; This is required by the State of North Carolina.
What is FamilyID and do I need to do it? A: FamilyID is a streamlining program that allows for important documents to be stored and accessed in one location. Important medical information, parent consent forms, Gfeller-Waller (Concussion Forms), etc... are a part of the program. Yes; parents must register their child onto FamilyID each year before their child can participate/tryout for a sport.
What sports are offered at Valley Springs? A: Football, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Golf (Co-ed), Tennis (Co-ed), Boys Track and Field, Girls Track and Field, Boys Cross Country, Girls Cross Country, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball
What if my student is not present at school the day of practice or contest? A: Students must be present at school for at least one half day on the day of the sports activity. This includes games and practices.
What are the academic and behavioral responsibilities for students to be eligible? A: All academic and behavioral responsibilities can be accessed by this LINK.
Can an athlete participate in school sports and other outside sports leagues simultaneously (SBYB, HFC, Excel, etc..)? A: Yes; however it is important that you are present at all Valley Springs events, games, or practices and there is no interference from other organizations.
How will I be notified about rain-outs or cancellations? A: Your coaches should notify parents through email or other social media platforms (Remind App, Group Me, Band, etc..).
Can practices/games be held on days when there is no school in session (Snow Day, Holiday, Optional Work Days, etc..)? A: Maybe; If it is an Optional Teacher Workday (Non-Weather Related), then Yes; practices and or games can be held. If school is not in session due to bad weather or holiday's, then no practices or games will be held.
Will there be a Certified Athletic Trainer (CAT) present at all sporting events? A: Yes
Can 6th grade students participate in sports at Valley Springs? A: No; Buncombe County and the French Broad Conference does not allow for 6th graders to participate in middle school sports.
