Our vision is to provide accessible harm reduction resources in the Bow Valley region.
We promote community wellness and safety through education, advocacy, and distributing supplies for safer substance use. We aim to reduce stigma and normalize conversations about substance use by sharing information and resources with the public.
What is harm reduction?
“Harm reduction is a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs” (National Harm Reduction Coalition).
We have a number of projects that we are working on including:
Fentanyl test strips
Safer snorting kits
Naloxone training and outreach in places where substance use takes place (bars, music events, ski hills, staff housing)
Community survey to gather data on substance use in the region, community needs, and gaps in existing services
