1. How does the donation process work?
As a donor, you are responsible for directly disbursing funds to the scholars you choose to support. The Vallejo Scholars Hub currently connects you with deserving students and provides tools to facilitate this process, but we do not handle the transfer of scholarship funds at this time.
2. Will Vallejo Scholars Hub assist with scholarship disbursement in the future?
Yes, we are working on expanding our services to include scholarship disbursement. This feature will be available soon, and we will notify all donors when it becomes available.
3. How do I select the scholar(s) I want to support?
Through the Donor Portal, you can browse scholar profiles, review their applications, and choose the individuals or groups you wish to fund. Once selected, you will coordinate directly with the scholar to arrange the transfer of funds.
4. Can I set specific criteria for the scholarships I fund?
Yes, you can establish specific criteria, such as academic focus, financial need, or extracurricular involvement, to ensure your funds support students who align with your values and goals. These criteria can be communicated directly with the scholars.
5. How do I verify that my funds have been received by the scholar?
Once you have disbursed the funds, we encourage both parties to confirm receipt through the portal. While we do not manage the transaction, the portal allows for communication and documentation of the process to ensure transparency.
6. Can I remain anonymous when donating?
Yes, if you prefer to remain anonymous, you can choose this option when setting up your donation. However, you will still be responsible for directly transferring funds to the scholar.
7. How can I stay updated on the progress of the scholars I support?
We will coordinate contact information between you and the scholar to facilitate communication. The portal also provides tools that allow you to stay connected, enabling you to track their academic progress, achievements, and other milestones.
8. How do I ensure that students are enrolled in school?
Before disbursing funds, you can request verification of enrollment directly from the scholar, such as a letter from the institution or an official enrollment document. We are also working on offering academic advising services to further support scholars in maintaining their enrollment and success. This feature is coming soon.
9. What happens if I can no longer fulfill my donation commitment?
If circumstances change and you are unable to fulfill your donation commitment, please communicate this directly with the scholar. We also encourage you to inform us through the portal so we can assist with any necessary arrangements or provide guidance.
10. Can I sponsor multiple scholars at the same time?
Yes, you can support multiple scholars simultaneously. You will manage each scholarship individually, coordinating with each scholar to ensure funds are disbursed accordingly.
