VIP
The Vortex Image Processing package provides state-of-the-art pre- and post-processing algorithms written in python for high-contrast imaging. This toolkit is specifically aimed to the direct imaging of exoplanets, and the retrieval of their astrometry/phometry. VIP started as the PhD project of Dr. Carlos Gomez Gonzalez. I have been its main developer and maintainer since 2020.
special
special is a package for the SPEctral Characterization of directly ImAged Low-mass companions. While some tools are specific to the characterisation of directly imaged (sub-)stellar companions, the main features of special can also be used in a more general way for the characterisation of any object with a measured spectrum, provided an input model or template grid.
vcal_sphere
vcal_sphere is a pipeline to calibrate, pre- and post-process VLT/SPHERE data based on VIP. A combination of esorex recipes and VIP methods are used for sky subtraction, flat-fielding, bad pixel correction, and distortion correction, while VIP routines alone carry out image centering, bad frame removal, and PSF modeling + subtraction (ADI, RDI & SDI).
MINDS pipeline
The MINDS hybrid pipeline is based on the JWST pipeline and routines from the VIP package for the reduction of JWST MIRI-MRS data. The pipeline compensates for known weaknesses of the official pipeline to improve the quality of spectra extracted from MIRI-MRS data.
hci_plot
hci_plot is a small package providing the tools to produce publication-quality ready figures of post-processed high-contrast images. Originally developed by Dr. Carlos Gomez Gonzalez, I have been maintaining and expanding the package since 2020.
All open-source projects that I either maintain or contribute to are accessible on my GitHub page.
"Yes," said Deep Thought. "Life, the Universe, and Everything. There is an answer. But, I'll have to think about it."
[Seven and a half million years later...]
"You're really not going to like it," observed Deep Thought.
"The Answer to the Great Question... Of Life, the Universe and Everything... Is..." said Deep Thought, and paused.
"Is... Forty-two," said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.
