Hi, I'm Valdemar Pinho Neto. Welcome to my website!
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics (2018) from FGV EPGE — the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance at Fundação Getulio Vargas, in Rio de Janeiro. I was a Visiting Student Research Collaborator at Princeton University (2016–2017) and a researcher at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2018–2020). Since 2020, I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses at FGV EPGE in Public Policy Evaluation, Labor Economics, Microeconomics, Behavioral Economics, and Applied Econometrics. I coordinated the Professional Master’s and Doctoral Program in Economics & Finance at FGV EPGE from 2023 to 2025, and I currently coordinate the Undergraduate Program in Economics at FGV EPGE. I also lead the Center for Empirical Studies in Economics (FGV CESE) . I am also a FAPERJ “Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado” research fellow (2024–2027).
My research employs quantitative methods, focusing on areas such as Applied Microeconometrics, Economic Development, Political Economy, Labor Economics, Public Policy, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
