Hi, I'm Valdemar Pinho Neto. Welcome to my website!
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics (2018) from EPGE Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) at the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro. During my doctoral program, I was a Visiting Student Research Collaborator at Princeton University (2016-2017), and after graduation, I worked as a researcher at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for two years (2018-2020). I am also a research fellow at FAPERJ (Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado, 2024-2027)
Since 2020, I have been teaching at FGV EPGE, covering undergraduate and graduate courses in Public Policy Evaluation, Labor Economics, Microeconomics, Behavioral Economics, and Econometrics. Currently, I coordinate the Professional Master’s in Economics and Finance and also lead the Center for Empirical Studies in Economics (CESE) at the Getulio Vargas Foundation, conducting applied research on various topics in Economics.
Research interests:
My research employs quantitative methods, focusing on areas such as Applied Microeconometrics, Economic Development, Political Economy, Labor Markets, and Public Policy.
