Hi, I'm Valdemar Pinho Neto. Welcome to my website!
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics (2018) from FGV EPGE — the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance at Fundação Getulio Vargas, in Rio de Janeiro. I was a Visiting Student Research Collaborator at Princeton University (2016–2017) and a researcher at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2018–2020). Since 2020, I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses at FGV EPGE in Public Policy Evaluation, Labor Economics, Microeconomics, Behavioral Economics, and Applied Econometrics. I currently coordinate the Professional Master’s and Doctoral Program in Economics & Finance at FGV EPGE and lead the Center for Empirical Studies in Economics (FGV CESE). I am also a FAPERJ “Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado” research fellow (2024–2027).
My research employs quantitative methods, focusing on areas such as Applied Microeconometrics, Economic Development, Political Economy, Labor Economics, and Public Policy.
