November 4th, 11am. I gave a virtual departamental seminar at the MSI. UT.
October 21st 1pm. I will give the first MEBS workshop basic usage. No bioinformatic or command line experience is needed to use , this is an introductory workshop focusing on basic functions and capabilities of the program including visualizations. If you haven’t use MEBS or you have use it and want to learn all the full advantage of the program to analyze your MAGs, genomes or metagenomes, this is the workshop for you.

June 9, 2021: I am very excited to participate in the 2nd Computational Biology Symposium of the Institute of Cellular Physiology of UNAM.This event highlights “Mexican Women in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics”. The Symposium’s objective is to present research carried out by Mexican female scientists inside and outside UNAM. Specifically, research utilizing bioinformatics, analytical or computational tools to answer biological questions. New paper is Out!!!
April 23, 2021: Our paper about novel TACK archaea phylum: "Brockarchaeota" is published in Nature communications. Named after pioneer microbiologist Thomas Brock.
February 18, 2021. In this excerpt I discuss key points for abstract submission to the World Microbe Forum WMF 2021. This unique and special event, a collaboration between the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS), is bringing together two of the biggest events in the microbial sciences, ASM Microbe 2021 and FEMS2021, to further science and help answer some of the most important questions impacting humankind.

September 19, 2019: I've been selected to receive the "Young Women Scientist Travel award" offered by BGI, Giga Science and CNGB China National GeneBank to present at the Woman In Science Conference. This conference provides an international forum that brings together top female researchers in big-data science. More info about the award here.
March 4, 2019: I've been selected to receive the FEMS-ASM MÄKELÄ-CASSELL Award 2019 for Early Career Scientists FEMS selects only one member for each ASM conference to present their research as an inviter speaker for the 8th Congress of European Microbiologist in Glasglow Scotland.
