INTRODUCTION

PWACrafter ("we," "our," or "us") built the Vaktim app as a free application with advertisements. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you ("user") regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

Location Data

Vaktim requires access to your device's location to provide accurate prayer times based on your geographical position. We collect:

• Precise Location (GPS): Latitude and longitude coordinates to calculate accurate prayer times for your location.

• Approximate Location: City, country, and country code determined through reverse geocoding for display purposes.

How we use location data:

• To calculate prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) specific to your location

• To determine Qibla direction

• To display your current city and country

Storage: Location data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Location coordinates are sent to third-party prayer time APIs only for calculation purposes.

Locally Stored Data

The app stores the following information locally on your device using Android's DataStore:

User Preferences:

• Theme settings (dark mode, system theme)

• Language preference

• Notification settings for each prayer time

• Fasting mode preferences

• Manual location selection (if GPS is not used)

Religious Practice Data:

• Dhikr (remembrance) counter values

• Kaza (missed prayers) tracking data

• Fasting notification preferences

Cache Data:

• Cached prayer times for offline access

• Cached Quran verses for offline access

This data is stored exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The app uses the following third-party services that may collect information:

1. Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data for personalized advertising. This includes:

• Device identifiers

• IP address

• General location data

• App usage data

2. Aladhan Prayer Times API

We use the Aladhan API (https://aladhan.com) to fetch prayer times. The following data is sent to this service:

• Latitude and longitude coordinates

• Date for prayer time calculation

• Calculation method preference (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı method)

3. Al Quran Cloud API

We use the Al Quran Cloud API (https://alquran.cloud) to fetch Quran verses. Only verse references and language/translation preferences are sent to this service. No personal data is transmitted.

4. Google Play Services (Location)

PERMISSIONS

The app requests the following permissions:

INTERNET

Purpose: To fetch prayer times, Quran verses, and display advertisements

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Purpose: To check network connectivity before making API requests

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

Purpose: To obtain precise GPS coordinates for accurate prayer time calculation

ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Purpose: To obtain approximate location when precise location is unavailable

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Purpose: To send prayer time reminder notifications

DATA SECURITY

We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

All data stored by the app is kept locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store user data.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our records. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

DATA RETENTION

• Local Data: User preferences and cached data remain on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the application.

• Location Data: Location coordinates are processed in real-time and are not stored on external servers.

USER RIGHTS

You have the right to:

• Access: View the data stored by the app in your device settings

• Delete: Clear all app data through your device's application settings

• Opt-out: Disable location services or notification permissions at any time through your device settings

• Ad Preferences: Opt-out of personalized advertising through your device settings

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
