The space
The Animas Valley Lodge is 3 min from City Market and the north end of Durango, 5 min from Durango Hot Springs, 24 min from Purgatory Resort, across the street from Mountain Annie's Dispensary and a trolley stop to go downtown. We have beautiful views of Animas City Mountain and the Animas Valley and sit on almost an acre of land. The lodge has four private guest suites available for up to 18 guests.
The lodge has four guest suites. You will have access to Hannah's Hideaway, which is on the ground level in the front of the home. It is accessed by two sets of French doors.
There may be guests staying in other suites on the property. Each has its own entrance and is private but may share interior walls.
Please note that this is a ground level unit and noise may be occasionally heard from the guests upstairs. Also, note that ceiling height in bathroom is lower than average because the floor was raised to account for plumbing, but still tall enough for a 6-ft tall person to shower.
The heat and air conditioner is shared with the guest suite above, Sunshine Ridge, and the controls are in that unit. Therefore, you will not have control in your own unit. What I have found is that the downstairs stays considerably cooler in the summer than upstairs so you will be comfortable all summer long. in the winter, if it starts to get too cool we will have portable heaters available.
This is a pet friendly studio but with no fences. There is a one-time $50 pet cleaning fee added to any pet stay and you're allowed to bring up to two dogs. Please add your pets as guests when booking.
Feel free to explore the property with your furry friend but be respectful of other guests with pets and be careful with the road, CR 203 and Highway 550 in front of the house.
