Be sure to equip your kitchen with everything a guest would need to prepare a meal just like they would at home. You'll need an adequate amount of place settings to accommodate the maximum allowable number of guests for your property, appropriate kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and glassware. Don't forget a good coffee maker!
The Kitchen Utensil set is probably my favorite item to recommend! It is an unbelievable value at just $39.99 for this 33 piece set that includes almost everything you'll need for cooking!Â
Add to the utensil a good set of kitchen knives and some measuring cups! Â
Dishes and Silverware
Think simple and practical here! Most sets come in an 8-piece set. Our recommendation is to purchase two 8-piece sets, and equip your kitchen with 12 place settings, which will accommodate most groups. Then keep the additional place settings in your locked owner pantry. Inevitably some of these items will disappear and/or accidentally get broken. I like the 49-piece set as it also includes a nice drawer organizer, and the flat ware is nice and heavy in the hand and does not feel cheap.
I personally like classic items and prefer the Amazon basics white dishes. I recommend ordering three sets, as these are a 6-piece set and you will want an extra plate or two in case of breakage. I also like the look of the Tevio 24-piece sets, but they do 'feel' like plastic. They are however very durable and will likely last a very long time. If you have a pool or outdoor dining area, this may be a better option for you.
The AmorArc coffee mugs are simple enough and are very durable. If you choose the Amazon Basics or Telvio dish sets, these mugs will be an appropriate match.
The Le'raze Glassware? Compare to Crate and Barrel Rings! These are the same exact glasses at half the price.
Cleaning Supplies
Cleaning supplies can be a costly item for your vacation rental. With proper management and a good cleaning team, you will save money and your property will always be clean. It is absolutely necessary to leave 'some' cleaning supplies for your guests even though your team will be doing the cleaning. This also invites your guests to clean up after themselves. We recommend products like tide pods, finish dishwasher pods, travel size dawn dish soap (leave your cleaning team with the refill), and other individual single use use items. We have added microfiber cloths for dusting and your cleaning team will appreciate it. I did NOT include Pledge. This is a product I do not care for due the oily residue it leaves behind. The oils from pledge also end up in your laundry and can stain your other towels and linens. I prefer our cleaners to use a little windex sprayed onto the microfiber cloth, not directly onto wood surfaces for dusting. The O-Cedar ring mops with a splash of Mr. Clean all purpose cleaner added to water in your mop bucket is the best mopping method we have found. This product does a great job on floors and cuts through all types of messes on your floors, and is safe on tile or on wood floors. Always make sure your cleaning team leaves your wood floors completely dry! The Eureka Power Speed vacuums are amazing. They are amazon best sellers, not because of the low price, but because they work great and are light and nimble and have great attachments and features.
