The motor develops 549 BHP at about 6500 RPM. It has almost 500 lb/ft of torque from only 4000 RPM. Take a look at the video on the home page to get the full effect.
We have had over 140 MPH at Goodwood circuit and it can cover a 1/4 mile in under 11 seconds!
On the dynomometer the motor uses 60 gallons (270 litres) per hour! On track that means about 3MPG... But, don't worry! We run renewable fuel to minimise our environmental effects.
Sustain renewable fuel, distributed by Rubis CI, is an incredibly highly engineered fuel made predominantly from agricultural waste with only 20% coming from fossil sources.
We can drop this fuel straight into the car with no modifications and we have used it over the last year - you really can't tell the difference.
This means we can vastly reduce our footprint, and when even higher percentages become available, we will be using that.
It is very hot and VERY loud in there! The steering is also very heavy, but it is so powerful that it is actually easy to drive.
We keep the car as original as possible and that includes the paint and stickers. Most of what you see is as it was raced in the 1970's. The engineering is also very much of it's era, we only make amendments to repair or to improve safety.
