Participant Guide

Before October 1st

  1. Check out the Resources page to learn more about our sponsor.

  2. Join the Bentley Falcon Grad Slack workspace. After you're in, join the #hackathon2021 channel.

  3. Download the INFO PACKET. It contains information about the challenges, mentors, speakers, and more.

October 1st

  1. Join us for the kickoff, either in-person, in Smith 214, or online by clicking the Join button on the home page.

  2. Organize with your teammates how you're going to be working together. Remotely? Asynchronously? Over email or Slack?

  3. Discuss which challenge your team wants to tackle.

October 2nd

  1. Tune in for the optional Creativity Workshop session led by Bentley Professor Andy Aylesworth, he is fantastic! A recording will be uploaded later on the Resources page if you can't make it.

October 2nd – 10th

  1. Ideate a solution to the challenge your team chooses.

  2. If you have any questions for Women in Big Data, they will be answering questions on Slack.

  3. Work on your presentation!

October 10th

  1. Teams will present (5-10 minutes each) online via Zoom.

  2. Attendees will vote on their favorite presentations.

After the event, Women in Big Data will review the presentations and share feedback, along with their choices for first, second, and third place. Winning teams will make their prize selections and receive their prizes by mail!
