Ever wonder how we come up with our awesome merch?

Our Merchandise Team comes up with cool designs for PSA's termly merchandise! They're in charge of making sure everything looks great, from concept to final product. From overseeing the design process to managing sales schedules, coordinating sales platform, and handling how merch gets distributed, they have a hand in it all!

Zaynah Adnan Jalil - Director of Merchandise

My name is Zaynah and I am in my 3A term of planning. What got me into planning was reading Jane Jacob’s FIRE book in high school and realizing this is a real career people have!! I’ve always been super interested in how community spaces form organically across time and cultures, being given the opportunity to hopefully(!) participate in creating those spaces is a dream come true lol! A small thing that makes my day better is going out for 1AM ice cream runs with my friends at my queen Farah Foods 🙈

Hi! My name is Sukhman and I am in my 1A term of planning! In high school, I found myself really into graphic design and took on marketing positions within multiple clubs. I knew I didn’t want to pursue graphic design as a career since it was more of a passion, but I still wanted to incorporate that creativity into something more environment and community-focused. That’s what ultimately drew me toward Planning! One small thing that would instantly make my day better would be rewatching an episode of Gilmore Girls. #teamjess 😇

Hi, my name is Daphne and I am in my 2A term of planning. I got into urban planning because I like urban design and development. I care about how cities look and feel, and I want to help make them more beautiful and appealing. I think well-designed spaces make people happier and more connected to where they live, and I want to be a part of creating places like that. If I had a day off I would spend it going to Toronto and shopping all day with my friends, then getting a nice dinner! One thing that makes my day better is drinking coffee!

Hello, my name is Nasser and I am in my 3A term of planning. Throughout my life I have travelled to many different countries and areas in this world, and one of the things that I enjoy most is getting to see new cities with different cultures and lifestyles. So, I became interested in how I could be able to create something like this and that got me into urban planning and design. One small thing that instantly makes my day better is discovering something new that I didn't know about before.

Hi!! My name is Ian and I am in my 1A term of planning. For as long as I can remember, I have always been mesmerized by maps, tiny models, and the busy city; so, when I learnt that there was a job dedicated to spending all day around these, I knew it was right for me! The fact that planning is so diverse and interdisciplinary -- combining creativity and design, the community, and the environment -- makes me even more excited for this program. If I am ever down, something that can brighten up any day is a good song with good friends!!
