The Alexandra Park Toy Bin is a shared community resource designed to make the park more fun for everyone. Please help us keep it safe, clean, and enjoyable by following these simple guidelines:
Share and return: Toys are for everyone—please return them to the bin after use
Keep it tidy: Place all toys inside the bin and close the lid securely
Be respectful: Treat toys and the space with care so others can enjoy them
Do not leave toys outside the bin (in the grass, sand, or around equipment)
Do not overfill the bin or leave oversized items that don’t fit inside
Do not leave broken or damaged toys in the bin
Items left outside the bin may be removed or damaged during park maintenance.
Only include toys that are:
Safe for shared, public use
Suitable for outdoor play
Durable and weather-resistant
For safety reasons, please do not include:
Toys with small parts (choking hazards)
Indoor or cloth-based toys (not weather-resistant)
Items that are hard to see in grass or sand
Any hazardous or unsafe materials
Non-compliant items will be removed by volunteers or City staff. [Alexandra...ding DRAFT | PDF]
This is a community-led initiative, and we all play a role:
If you notice broken or unsafe items, please remove and dispose of them
Help keep the bin organized when you visit
Encourage others to follow the guidelines
City staff may also inspect the area and remove hazards if needed. [Alexandra...ding DRAFT | PDF]
The toy bin works best when everyone participates. By following these guidelines, you’re helping create a fun, welcoming park for all families in our neighbourhood.
Thank you for being part of it!
