Synapse is the all-encompassing undergraduate neuroscience organization at UT. Synapse focuses on providing neuroscience enthusiasts a place to deepen their knowledge of the brain, build community, and prepare for a career in neuroscience, targeting neuroscience careers in medicine, research, and industry. Synapse offer a variety of events such as general meetings with UT neuroscience professors, volunteering events, shadowing events, Pizza with Professors, and socials.
We aim to create an inclusive and supportive community for undergraduate students passionate about neuroscience. We hope to provide a holistic approach to the neuroscience opportunities in and around campus and foster a greater appreciation for neuroscience. We emphasize volunteering and leadership through programs such as Lifelong Learning with Friends and committee membership. We aim to cultivate a welcoming space in which students—brought together by a shared appreciation for neuroscience—find social belonging and academic guidance at a large university.
