Sudip Misra is a Professor and Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Carleton University, in Ottawa, Canada. His current research interests include Wireless Sensor Networks and Internet of Things. Professor Misra has published over 350 scholarly research papers and 12 books. He has won nine research paper awards in different conferences. He was awarded the IEEE ComSoc Asia Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award at IEEE GLOBECOM 2012, California, USA. He was also the recipient of several academic awards and fellowships such as the Faculty Excellence Award (IIT Kharagpur), Young Scientist Award (National Academy of Sciences, India), Young Systems Scientist Award (Systems Society of India), Young Engineers Award (Institution of Engineers, India), (Canadian), the National Academy of Sciences, India – Swarna Jayanti Puraskar (Golden Jubilee Award), and the Careers360 Outstanding Faculty Award in Computer Science for the year 2018 from the Honourable Minister for Human Resource Development (MHRD) of India. He was awarded the Canadian Government’s prestigious NSERC Post Doctoral Fellowship and the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship in Germany. His team received the GYTI Award 2018 in the hands of the President of India for socially relevant innovations. Dr. Misra has been serving as the Associate Editor of different journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing, IEEE Network, and IEEE Systems Journal. He is the Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences (NASI), India, Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, British Computer Society (BCS), UK, Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH), UK, and the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (IETE), India. Professor Misra is the distinguished lecturer of the IEEE Communications Society. He has been serving the Executive Committee of IEEE Kharagpur Section since 2008 in different capacities. Presently, he is the Chair of the IEEE Kharagpur Section . He is the Director and Co-Founder of the IoT startup, SensorDrops Networks Private Limited.
Adway Mitra is an assistant professor in Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, IIT Kharagpur. He received his Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and he also has post-doctoral research experience from ICTS-TIFR. His research interests lie in modelling, simulation and analysis of complex spatio-temporal processes such as climatic and social systems
Arpan Pal has more than 29 years of experience in the area of Signal Processing, Communication, Embedded Systems and Robotics. Currently, as Distinguished Chief Scientist and Research Area Head, Embedded Devices and Intelligent Systems, TCS Research, he working in the areas of Connected Health, Smart Cities, Smart Enterprises, Smart Manufacturing and Remote Sensing. His research interests include Affective Computing , Edge Computing, Intelligent Sensing, Signal Processing, Image Processing and AI & IoT based Systems.
He is on the editorial board of notable journals like ACM Transactions on Embedded Systems, Springer Nature Journal on Computer Science and is on the TPC of notable conferences like ICASSP and EUSIPCO. He has filed 165+ patents (out of which 85+ are granted in different geographies) and has published 140+ papers and book chapters in reputed conferences and journals. He has also authored two books – one on IoT and another on Digital Twins in Manufacturing.
He is a B.Tech and M. Tech from IIT, Kharagpur, India and PhD. from Aalborg University, Denmark.
Swarnava Dey, is currently working as a Senior Scientist in the Embedded Systems & Intelligent Devices group at TCS Research. He has several publications and granted patents on embedded implementation of Deep Learning (computer vision and speech processing) and Bayesian filters (SLAM) on parallel & distributed embedded systems. He has got his B.Tech (CS) (VU) and M.tech (IIT Kgp). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in robustness, verifiability, and certifiability of Deep Learning models for embedded systems.
Gitesh Kulkarni is working as a Scientist in TCS research. He is an accomplished designer of embedded systems design and a Maker at heart. He is a Master of Science in Electrical engineering from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. His research interests are at the cusp of edge computing, computer architectures, and sensing. In one of his pioneering works, he was the lead designer of the world's first industrial safety watch for the TATA group. He has several filed and granted patents in edge computing and wearable devices. Gitesh is a member of IEEE and ACM. Before joining TCS, Gitesh created embedded systems and systems products for leading technology companies. When not playing with Linux or a soldering gun, he is busy reading novels, comics, and musing about philosophy. He is a licensed Ham radio operator as well.
Aritra Chatterjee is a senior member of the Technical Staff, Algorithms Development team, Saankhya Labs, Bengaluru, India. He has expertise in developing baseband processing algorithms for commercial 5G NR systems with an emphasis on MIMO beamforming and user positioning. He has defended his PhD thesis in August 2021 at the G. S. Sanyal School of Telecommunications, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India., Prior to that, he received a master's degree in telecommunication engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2014. His research interests include performance evaluation and radio resource management of futuristic radio access networks
Devarpita is associated with the Education Team at MathWorks India. She actively collaborates with faculties and students across the country with an aim to advocate computational thinking in modern STEM education. She is also involved in collaborating with researchers to accelerate interdisciplinary research using MATLAB and Simulink. Prior to joining MathWorks, Devarpita worked on dynamic resource scheduling for information freshness in real-time wireless networks during her PhD at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. She obtained her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi and West Bengal University of Technology, respectively. She was awarded Richard. E. Merwin Scholarship by the IEEE Computer Society for her promising academic and leadership activities. Her research interest includes, but not limited to, advanced wireless technologies, real-time wireless networks, smart manufacturing, intelligent learning techniques for decision making, resource planning and optimization.
Ayan Mondal is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Rennes 1, INRIA, CNRS, IRISA, Rennes, France. He completed his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India in 2020. He is a former TCS Ph.D. Research Fellow. He also received his M.S. and B.Tech. degree from IIT Kharagpur in 2015 and from the West Bengal University of Technology in 2012, respectively. His current research interests include algorithm design for data center networks, software-defined networks, sensor-cloud, edge/fog networks, smart grid, wireless sensor networks, and game-theoretic applications. He has published 35 research papers in reputed IEEE/ACM Transactions, Journals, and Conferences. Additionally, he is taking a lead in organizing “VNI: Virtualization for Enabling Next-Generation IoT Networks” and “SIGNIS: Softwarized Next Generation Networks for IoT Services” workshops which are co-located with prestigious conferences such as IEEE HPSR 2021 and IEEE Globecom 2021, respectively. He is also a professional member of IEEE and ACM.
Dr Arijit Roy is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Luxembourg. Prior to that, Dr Roy completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. He received an MS (by research) and B.Tech degree in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India and the West Bengal University of Technology, India, respectively. After completion of his B.Tech, he worked as a Network Engineer in IntecInfonet Pvt. Dr Roy is also a co-founder and Director of a Start-up, named- “SensorDrops Networks Pvt. Ltd.” He is an area expert of IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee e-Health SIG on IoT. Dr Roy is a member of IEEE and ACM.
Dr Roy has research experience of more than 10 years and his works are published in many reputed SCI journals and conferences. Additionally, he has 7 Indian filed patents, which are along the same line as his research work. Among his publications, a few are awarded as best papers in different venues such as in IEEE Systems Journal and ICACIE, Springer. He is a recipient of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Senior Research Fellowship (CSIR-SRF) in 2017. Dr Roy has been recognized with several awards such as Samsung Innovation Award and IBM Day Award. One of his research projects was selected (among the top 9 worldwide) in IEEE ComSoc Student competition in 2014. He received the prestigious Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award-2018, for society relevant innovation, which was received from the honorable President of India. He has been awarded with the Raman-Charpak Fellowship-2018 (only 4 researchers were selected in Engineering Sciences), for visiting a French university and pursuing a short-term collaborative research. He has been selected as a young researcher to participate in the 6th Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2018, to be held in Heidelberg, Germany, in which only the 200 most qualified Young Researchers (world-wide) are given the opportunity to enrich and share the unique atmosphere of the Heidelberg Laureate.)
The broad research area of Dr. Roy is Internet of Things. Specifically, it includes Internet of Things, Sensor-cloud, Wireless Sensor Networks, Cloud Computing, and Wireless Body Area Networks. He, along with his team developed different societal impactful products and prototypes in the domain of healthcare and agriculture.
Sangita Dhara is currently working as a Research Assistant at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. She completed her Ph. D. in 2020 and MS (by Research) in 2013 from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India. She had been research associate in projects titled 'Enhancement of transport layer protocol for interplanetary network' (Oct, 2010 - Mar, 2013) and 'Protocol development for delay tolerant deep space network' (June, 2013 - Mar, 2017) sponsored by Indian Space Research Organization. Her main research interest includes computer networks, inter-planetary networks, vehicular networks and design of algorithms.
Ketan Keshav is a Computer Science Engineer, currently working as a Software Engineer at KreditBee. He is passionate about Mobile and Web Development, Cyber Security, Coding, and Cricket. He completed two internships to further amplify his passion. He is an experienced Chairperson with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. He is a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with Event Management experience having organized several IEEE Events, hackathons, and college workshops. His team was the Regional Level Winner of Technology Dissemination Contest conducted by IEEE Pune Section. He has competed at TCS EngiNX and was the finalist and the 2nd Runner up of this National-level competition. He is currently an Execom member at IEEE Bangalore Section, Treasurer, IEEE Young Professionals, and SCT Mentor, IEEE Bangalore Section. Other titles he holds are Section Chapter Representative, IEEE TEMS, India, Member Student Representative, IEEE Bangalore Section, PR and Promotions Coordinator for Students Activities Committee (SAC), IEEE Bangalore Section, IEEE Chairman, and Student Activity Committee(SAC) Chairman for K.S Institute of Technology. Despite his eventful life, he always makes time for family, cricket, and volunteers at various NGOs, and conducts monthly events which are aimed to make life better for the underprivileged.
Shivam is currently serving as the Mentoring Chair of ARC, IEEE Computer Society MGA Band Vice-Chair person (Collaboration), IEEECSSYP, MGAB. He has graduated from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad, India and is currently working as a Senior Engineer in ZS Associates in the NLP and Graph Domain. Shivam was one the first Richard E.Merwin scholars from IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section which is awarded to only 40 student world wide every year by the IEEE Computer Society. He has over 20+ Project sand over 5+ Research Articles/Papers in the areas of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Graph and Natural Language Processing. He has worked with various national and international organizations. He was selected as a Summer Research Fellow at Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata by the Indian Academy of Science to work on “Automated Disease Diagnos is of Tissue Connective Disorder”. He has also submitted a book chapter on Medical Diagnosis using Neural Networks 'CIMLHCI2020' which has been accepted and will be published by De Gruyter publications. Some of his other publications include “Graph Enabled NLU Chatbot” and “ Semi-Automated Ontology Prediction ” in IEEE and Springers.
