Will my scout earn the merit badges that they sign up for?
We do not guarantee that attending the classes offered at UT MBU will earn the scouts the merit badges that they sign up for. However, we will work with the scouts to complete as many applicable requirements as possible in the time allotted.
Can my scout be registered as a part of a troop?
Yes, you do not need to register your scout as an individual if multiple members of your troop are attending. Registering as a group can reduce check-in stress, but it is not required. If there are any questions about how to register, contact help.utmbu@gmail.com
What happens if a teacher gets sick at the last minute and cannot attend the event?
We will likely need to cancel that session and replace that class with a different merit badge.
What is the schedule for the day of MBU?
Each class will be two hours, with an hour break for lunch. Instructors will release scouts 10-15 minutes early in order to give them enough time to get to their next session. For classes that are double-sessions, they will be four hours, taking up either Session One and Session Two or Session Three and Session Four.
7:00am: Check-in Opens
8:30am-10:30am: Session One
10:30am-12:30pm: Session Two
12:30pm-1:30pm: Lunch (which will be provided for both scouts and chaperones)
1:30pm-3:30pm: Session Three
3:30pm:5:30pm: Session Four
5:30pm: all scouts must have a chaperone to take them home
Will there be waitlists for this year's MBU?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer waitlists for this year's MBU, due to the fact that our registration platform currently can't support it in the way we would need to do it. That said, you will be able to adjust your registration after it closes, so please continue to check Doubleknot to see whether seats have been added or have been freed up.
