Date and Time: April 11, 2026. Check in will begin at 7:00 AM and run until the start of the 4th class session at 3:30 PM. Classes run from 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM with an hour break for lunch (which we provide at no cost for all scouts, chaperones, and volunteers). A scout does not need to sign up for all 4 sessions if they only want to attend a few Merit Badge classes.
Location: MBU 2026 will be held on the UT Campus. Check-In will be located at the University Teaching Center (UTC). Please see the "Directions & Parking" page for more information.
Price: Each single session class will cost $15, and double session classes will cost $30. There is no flat fee for the event. Chaperones do not have to pay anything to attend MBU.
Chaperone Policy: To comply with UT’s Youth Protection Program, scouts must have at least 1 chaperone that remains with them at all times throughout the event. Troop leaders can serve as chaperones for multiple scouts if they are all going to the same class, but we recommend having each parent accompany their Scout.
Registration: Registration will be conducted through Doubleknot. We will open registration at 8:00am on March 6th, and close it at midnight on March 27th. During this time period, you will be able to add or remove scouts from your registration, but we cannot guarantee that classes will remain available. We will process refunds once registration closes. If you have any questions or concerns, please email help.utmbu@gmail.com. See the "Registration" page for more details.
Reporting Requirements: At the end of the event we will be sending out completion reports by email instead of using blue cards. Some Merit Badge Counselors may be willing to work with scouts on verifying previously completed requirements or helping them complete remaining ones in the future, but this is entirely at the merit badge counselor’s discretion.
