The DIY Drone
Welcome to our DIY Drone Flight Programming project! Our team is focused on creating an affordable, customizable, and educational drone system that allows users to interact with drone technology through programming. Whether you're a hobbyist, student, or researcher, our project offers the perfect platform for exploring autonomous flight, embedded systems, and wireless communication.
Our project began with the goal of developing a programmable drone that operates autonomously, following pre-planned paths with the ability to execute custom commands. We’ve integrated a Raspberry Pi Zero with a SpeedyBee F405 V3 Flight Controller, creating a flexible and scalable platform for various applications, from educational purposes to research on drone behavior.
We aim to make drone programming accessible to all by using open-source tools and Python to control the drone's behavior. Our design focuses on safety, stability, and performance while being cost-effective and easy to assemble.
Autonomous Flight: Program custom flight paths and behaviors for the drone using Python scripts.
Modular Design: Expandable platform for adding sensors and more.
Low-Cost: Under $500 to keep it affordable for students and hobbyists.
Educational Value: A hands-on way to learn about drones, embedded systems, and robotics.
Customizability: Ideal for research, development, and experimentation.
Affordable: Build your own drone for a fraction of the cost of commercial drones.
Educational: Perfect for learning about robotics, embedded systems, and autonomous flight.
Customizable: Easily add new features and sensors for further exploration.
Safe: Designed with safety features such as emergency stop and collision detection.
