The USS Venture was formed in 2017 in Johnstown, PA, from friends who had been members of STARFLEET's USS Brittanic and USS Inferno chapters. After completing her initial shakedown cruise, Venture was fully commissioned a STARFLEET chapter in 2018.

In 2019, the Venture crew was large and widespread enough that the USS Solstice was commissioned from former Venture crew.
