The fundraising component for my program is limited, in that it does not require a whole lot of money to run. The start up money I will need for the jars and supplies is under $100 and I plan to receive this money from Aguilar Elementary School’s Student Council. I have been in communication with the Student Council and have been attending every one of their meetings thus far. I also agreed to help them with all of their fundraising events in exchange for my program’s funding.
The student council runs annual fundraisers such as benefit nights, movie nights, bake sales, holiday related events, and other fundraisers in order to fund program such as this writing program. Just this year, the student council changed teaching supervisors and between these two new supervisors there are many new ideas for fundraising circulating in the council. There has already been one fundraising event that has taken place and I will continue to give a brief descriptions of these fundraising events bellow:
Trunk or Treat:
This event was meant to bring the student population and their families together one night after school to celebrate Halloween! All of the teachers dressed up and decorated their cars in fun themes for the kids to get a kick out of. Students and their families came dressed up in their costumes after school hours and were able to trick or treat from each of the teacher's cars. Shaved Ice and pizza was served at this event and a portion of the proceeds went to the student council for funding!
Scholastic Fundraiser:
Aguilar's student council hosted a scholastic event during school hours the week of November fourth. I assisted the student council by supervising the students coming in and out, helping students pick out different items, and running one of the registers for the students to purchase their items!
Peter Piper Fundraiser Night:
Aguilar Elementary School just recently held a benefit night at Peter Piper Pizza on January 22, 2020 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. I provided a photo bellow I took of the banner advertisement hung in front of the school as well as the flyers and stickers that were handed out to the students!
I have also been in contact with Peter Piper Pizza and lined up receiving a bunch of their free student token awards to give to each Super Star Writer along with putting their name in their grade level’s jar! I provided a photo of the token awards I obtained bellow! I also want to discuss with Peter Piper Pizza the possibility of sponsoring the end of the quarter pizza party.
