Nullsec life and PvP is definitely very attractive, but after a while a lot of people just want to be able to log off and not worry about their stations being gone, or getting a discord ping that they have to move!
United Stellar Federation is based on the idea that we need a secure income, and a place to go to to grind out some isk and not stress about politics or war decs. So our primary focus is high sec industry and PvE Fleets.
By offering a good selection of BPO's, in a mineral rich area with good reprocessing plants nearby we can increase the average high sec miner's income by at least 50%. And at least double with good Orca boosts.
The temptation to start renting a spot in null immediately is there, so is setting up several of our own athanors for moon mining and more stations etc. While we have the funds for it, the upkeep would be an endless grind and ruin the fun of the game.
So the corp will expand as our player base expands. And it will expand into whichever areas has more active players. Our core will remain the same, so if all you want to do is shoot rocks then no problem :D
Industry is very competitive in High Sec, especially with the less expensive items that require fewer skills to make. But when you start playing with the bigger ticket items, it is possible to make stupid amounts of money in industry. It requires a large investment in isk and time to get started, but it is well worth it. We help our pilots work towards this goal.
We will write a full guide on industry and how to increase profits in high sec, but for now keep in mind that it is not as simple as mining then building stuff. As with everything in Eve, there are multiple steps and each step has ways to be more efficient and profitable.
As a newbro I thought it was as simple as mine, build, sell. And I'm sure most people think that at first as well. So there is a lot we can help people with.
There are plenty of PvE combat sites that small and large fleets can get into. There are the various Triglavian conduits, Incursions, level 5 missions and other events that happen from time to time.
USFed uses a shield doctrine so it is easier for new players to skill into, and it is the same skill set required for the Warp To Me incursion fleet so you won't have to refit your ships to run incursions.
We are always on the lookout for pilots, especially logi pilots!
By adding fun and profitable other options to the usual mining grind, we hope to keep players interested in the game.
We decided on Lari as a location because of the already existing community there. When we can't run our own fleets, there is usually a local fleet available for pilots to join. Lots of moons popping, and even if the owners don't advertise it, you can learn how to do the ninja d-scan trick on this site :D
Our first station is a Raitaru, setup for research and manufacturing. We have purchased over 150 blue print originals which we have made available to corp members, check out the How to use Corp BPO's page.
Since are primary focus are newbros and returning players, we believe the high sec mining option to be a good one. While the isk per hour is significantly lower than many other activities, it can be done more efficiently in fleet and by mining the more valuable moons. The more relaxed life will attract returning players who are sick of null, and the newbros can get into mining quite quickly with practically zero skill requirement.
While we can (and do) mine other people's moons, we would like to have moons on our schedule. The longer moon's take to pull, the better the rock sizes. 1 week pull and it is almost pointless, the amount of time an Orca takes flying from rock to rock kills your isk/hour earning. I suggest a 4 week minimum, but 6 weeks target.
So the initial goal will be 4 Athanors providing the corp a 4 week pull every week. The day and time will be set depending on when our miners are most active. Eventually we would like to see 11 Athanors and 1 Tatara so we can provide two 6 weeks pulls a week. This will be expanded as our player base expands.
We are hoping to get enough pilots to fill the various roles needed so that we can take advantage of the various invasions and higher tier combat sites. On occasion Eve has a limited time invasion which gives amazing isk rewards, and it is a nice break from chewing rocks all day!
We will encourage pilots to fill roles such as logistics, dps, sniper and hopefully even a few boost pilots. Our fleet with stick with shield doctrines due to the lower learning time and flexibility with our preferred public incursion fleet, Warp To Me.
