Become a Research Assistant:
Psychological research cannot be done without the assistance of Research Assistants (RAs) who are volunteers who work “behind the scenes” to make the magic happen! We are always looking for bright, talented, and motivated students to join the PAR Lab research team. Research experience is critical to learning what drives your interests and is highly encouraged for those considering applying to graduate school. We encourage our research assistants to become involved in the research process, including exploring their own interests. Primary selection criteria will include performance in psychology courses, GPA, and an in-person interview.
If you are an undergraduate or graduate student interested in joining our team of researchers, please read the following information below.
Research assistants are expected to work at least 4-6 hours per week for a minimum of two semesters. Preference is given to USF psychology majors who have completed a research methods course, particularly those from the St. Petersburg campus. We also require a minimum GPA of 3.0. Attendance of weekly in-person lab meetings (typically Wednesdays 1-2:30pm) is required.
If you are interested in being a research assistant in the PAR lab, please download and complete the PAR Lab Research Assistant Application and e-mail it to usfspparlab@gmail.com with the subject heading “PAR Lab RA application”. Please also mention in your e-mail whether you are looking for non-credit research experience, directed study credit, or honors thesis work.
