USC Upstate Teaching Fellows believes it is important for organizations to focus on providing valuable and meaningful service to their Fellows in order to build trust and establish a strong reputation with our community.
Pardon the dust... a new year of USC Upstate Teaching Fellows is coming soon!
A glimpse into what our Fellows are up to in their local community
Annual USC Upstate Teaching Fellows Events
College Day
During Teacher Cadet Day, USC Upstate provides an opportunity for partner high schools to visit and engage with the university. Cadets participate in icebreakers, receive a school tour, and listen to guest speakers, including the South Carolina Teacher of the Year. This event allows cadets to gain exposure to the university and learn from inspiring educators, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the teaching profession.
Mock Interview Day
During Mock Interview Day, USC Upstate Teaching Fellows provide Teaching Fellows applicants who have made it to the interview round an opportunity to learn more about State Interview Day and a chance to see what Interview Day may look like for them. Fellows assist in the Writing Room, Interview Rooms, and by interacting with high school seniors.
Junior Conference
The Teaching Fellows Junior Conference is an annual event that brings together junior Teaching Fellows from across the state to participate in professional development, leadership training, and networking opportunities. The conference offers a wide range of workshops and sessions focused on topics such as classroom management, lesson planning, technology integration, and diversity and inclusion in education. Attendees have the opportunity to learn from experienced educators, collaborate with peers, and explore potential career paths in education.
The Teaching Fellows program holds Hill Day every spring, which serves as a platform for showcasing the program to the Senate and House of Representatives. This event is for senior Teaching Fellows and aims to promote the program's value and influence on the education community. By highlighting the program's achievements, Hill Day provides an opportunity for Teaching Fellows to advocate for continued support and funding from lawmakers.
