Hi everyone! My name is Shyam Ganesh Babu, and I’m an advisor and co-founder of MedElem. I’m from Columbia, South Carolina, and I’m a student at the University of South Carolina Honors College, studying Biological Sciences on the pre-medical track.
I co-founded MedElem in 2022 with the goal of helping kids build lifelong healthy habits through lessons in nutrition, exercise, and hygiene. Watching students light up as they learn about mental health, fitness, and medical technology has been one of the most rewarding experiences. It means a lot to give back to the same community that shaped me.
Outside of MedElem, I’m involved in colon cancer research, TEDxCongaree Vista, and a student-physician connection platform. I also love mountain biking and playing pickleball in my free time.
I’m incredibly proud of how far MedElem has come and can’t wait to see how we continue to grow and spark curiosity in the next generation of learners!
