About Us


Founded in November 2022 at the University of South Carolina, MedElem began with just three USC students. 


Driven by a passion for innovation in healthcare, MedElem is dedicated to sparking early interest in healthcare among youth. Lead by a dynamic team of 17 students and rallying 350 student volunteers, MedElem has connected with over 2,800 youth in elementary schools, after-school programs, and homeless shelters. 


Through engaging health modules, MedElem promotes career exploration and healthy habits, particularly in communities facing health disparities. This initiative reflects the founders' commitment to nurturing future healthcare professionals and improving health outcomes in South Carolina. 


With a current membership of 264 USC students, MedElem continues to grow each year.
