Driven by a passion for innovation in healthcare, MedElem is dedicated to sparking early interest in healthcare among youth. Lead by a dynamic team of 17 students and rallying 2196+ total student volunteers, MedElem has connected with 6,223+ youth in elementary schools, after-school programs, and homeless shelters.

Member Spotlights
Member Spotlights
Kate is a passionate and involved member of MedElem. Since joining, she has made many connections with other students interested in pediatrics, healthcare, and educating the youth. She encourages others to be a part of MedElem for a more impactful and fun undergraduate experience.
Sreeja is MedElem’s UofSC School of Medicine Liaison. Throughout the year, she has developed the relationship between MedElem, UofSC SOM, and PRISMA Children’s Hospital. Through her participation in MedElem, she has deepened her understanding of the pediatric patient population in our community.
Allie, MedElem’s 2023/2024 Diversity and Education Chair, has spent the school year teaching our members about the importance of incorporating diversity into our curriculum. She has gained so much from her time in MedElem and urges others to join as well!
Member Spotlight: Ava is MedElem’s 2024/2025 Historian. One of Ava’s favorite aspects of MedElem is the community and recommends that everyone should become a part of it!
