This platform has been designed to streamline and standardize the process of collecting data about University of South Carolina (USC) alumni during the Reconstruction Era. With your assistance, we aim to organize and compile a comprehensive database of individual biographies and life events, which will subsequently be used to create a digital project accessible online.
To begin, utilize the menu to navigate to a specific individual's page. On each page, you will find two links at the top that direct you to pre-filled Google Forms, thereby ensuring standardization. A short biography is available on each page.
The first form, titled "Bio: [person's name]", requires you to input general information about the individual, such as their date of birth, birthplace, place of death, and a short biographical summary. Please ensure to fill out this form only once per person.
The second form, "Details: [person's name]", is dedicated to capturing the nuances of various life events experienced by the individual. It is important to complete a separate form for each significant event in the person's life, such as schools attended prior to USC, their occupation, and their attendance at USC.
