ASVAB: the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in both civilian and military career occupations. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. www.Official-ASVAB.com
Taking this test DOES NOT obligate a student to serve in the armed forces.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program provides the opportunity to participate in a world-class, comprehensive career exploration and planning program.
The ASVAB is also offered to high school and post-secondary students as part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. The Career Exploration Program is designed to help students explore careers in both the civilian and military worlds of work. If you are interested in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program, contact your teacher or counselor to see how you can participate.
The ASVAB is designed to measure aptitude in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial.
The ASVAB is administered via both computer and paper and pencil.
Roughly 70% of military applicants take the test via computer.
If you are interested in taking the ASVAB in order to apply for the Air Force, you will need to contact me at anthony.schmaus@us.af.mil. Once I have determined that you are otherwise qualified, I will set up a time for you to take the ASVAB at the closest Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) or an affiliated Military Entrance Test (MET) site.
