About the Twin Cities Bird Festival
The Twin Cities Bird Festival strives to connect people to the joy of birds and spark interest in bird conservation through a community celebration of spring migration.
The first annual Twin Cities Bird Festival was held in 2025 at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park. Hundreds of attendees braved the cool spring weather for our first in-person festival, enjoying many birding activities, guided walks and live presentations throughout the day. We hope you'll join us in 2026 for even more fun!
The Twin Cities Bird Festival is organized by the Twin Cities Urban Bird Conservation Work Group. This work group was formed after the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area became part of the Urban Bird Treaty Program. This program is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service initiative that builds partnerships in cities to conserve migratory birds through habitat restoration, threat reduction, education, and community engagement.
The Twin Cities Urban Bird Conservation Work Group is comprised of city, county, state, federal and non-profit organizations dedicated to our natural resources. Come meet us at the Twin Cities Bird Festival and help us celebrate Minnesota's migrating birds!
