MN DNR, USFWS, and Wood Lake Nature Cente

Join MN Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for a classic birding experience that all experience levels will enjoy (most suitable for ages 15 and up). We will explore the trails, looking and listening for birds and discussing ID tips and tricks. This walk will be focused on identifying birds by sight and sound. We will also learn to use Merlin Sound ID to assist us in identifying birds. Binoculars will be available for loan, but please bring your own if you have them. We will also have migratory Bird Day giveaways for all participants!

If you’re interested in using the Merlin app, please download it onto your phone before you arrive.

Many thanks to Wood Lake Nature Center for opening early for this event. They invite you to check out their nature center after the walk.

Trails are flat with a variety of surface types and we will cross a floating wooden boardwalk.

This walk is free, but pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 20 participants, so sign up early.

Note: Dogs are NOT ALLOWED at Wood Lake Nature Center
