Urban Studies Club

Urban Bridge is a student club of primarily Urban Studies students. The purpose of the club is to bridge the gap between the city and its people’s needs through exploration, service, and community involvement.

Supper Club

Once a month during the semester the Urban Studies Club plans dinners at different restaurants in the city. Attended by club members, Urban Studies students, and department faculty members (and families), these are opportunities to try new foods, share a meal with friends and mentors, and learn more about Worcester.

Recent Supper Club Meetings

  • Bay State Bakery, Shawarma & Grill (Middle Eastern food)

  • Antonio's Pizza

  • Pho Bowl (Vietnamese food)

  • El Patron (Mexican Food)

  • White Rhino (Eclectic American)

Urban Studies Ambassadors

Urban Studies Ambassadors are Urban Studies majors who are mentors to incoming Urban Studies freshmen and transfer students. The ambassador's role is to build a relationship with you as you begin your education in the department. Having been in your shoes before, they understand the pressures and possibilities in front of you and can help you navigate classes, the campus, and the city.

Throughout their time at WSU and in the department, ambassadors have learned many useful tips and tricks to help you become a successful student. Your ambassador will be a great point of contact for you when you have questions and do not know where or how to get answers.

Upon your arrival to WSU you will be contacted by your ambassador welcoming you to the department; you will also receive a list of helpful resources to jumpstart your first semester in the department. Your ambassador is a great resource for you as the semester progresses if you have questions about classes, professors, and anything else that may come up. Your level of involvement with your ambassador is completely up to you.

If you would like to be paired with an Urban Studies Ambassador please email Pete Peloquin, ppeloquin@worcester.edu. We look forward to you becoming a part of our department!
