Thomas Geoffrey Harris: 09/2025 ~
Previous: M.Eng in Robotics Engineering, University of York
Thomas works towards a PhD in hybrid robotics, with a focus on novel integrated systems incorporating compliance and rigid joint motion.
Previously studied MEng in Robotics Engineering at the University of York (2021-25), completing a dissertation on the design & fabrication of novel compliant mechanisms for below-knee prostheses to improve biomimicry and mobility. He has a wide range of interests, particularly in mechanical design, fabrication problems, and robotic control. Especially interested in medical applications and prosthesis projects. Outside of engineering, He enjoys theatre and comedy, specifically performing sketch acting and stand-up comedy, which he hopes to continue.
Aktouf Mohamed Lotfi: 10/2023 ~
Previous: M.Eng in Electronics, ECAM-EPMI 2014-2017
Lotfi is a PhD research Electrical Engineering at the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology, University of York. His research centres on advanced deep learning techniques to enhance diagnoses for breast cancer in women using imaging. He explores a multimodal AI framework to fuse diagnostic data. He explores efficient models and techniques to fuse multimodal data, while also working on explainable diagnostic outcomes. Beyond his academic pursuits, Lotfi is passionate about football and enjoys spending quality time with his family.
