Welcome to the Smart Manufacturing and Systems Research Group (SMSRG) at the University of Southampton Malaysia. SMSRG aims to embark leading research on various multidisciplinary research domains including Mechanical & Manufacturing, Aerospace, Energy & Green Technology, and Electrical & Electronics. Our groups are composed of research experts of the following themes: Intelligent Sensors and Systems, Medical Engineering, Smart Composites and Coatings, Additive and Digital Manufacturing, Advanced Flow Control and Energy Harvesting, and Multiphysics Computational Modelling.

2/12/2025 - Prof Suan Hui Pu from the Smart Manufacturing and Systems Research group presented a paper at the 10th International Conference on Intelligent Informatics and BioMedical Sciences (ICIIBMS 2025).
26/11/2025 - PhD Viva: SMSRG PhD students, Ms. Laila Fadhillah, successfully defended her PhD thesis.
30/5/2025 - PhD Viva: SMSRG PhD students, Ms. Xue Chen, successfully defended her PhD thesis.

24/7/2024 - Sharing Session: SMSRG recently held a productive session, highlighting project updates, collaborations, and future research strategies with a focus on innovation and upcoming breakthroughs.

6/7/2023 - First SMS-RG get-together: The first SMSRG get-together events gathered all members and associate members for research sharing sessions, generation of ideas and collaborations.
